Member clubs agreed by a two-thirds majority earlier this week to trial the concept, which has been successful in a similar competition down south, for one season.
Fry will carry out the same role he does for Cricket North and run the league’s day-to-day operations, while the TCL committee will still be responsible for its competitions, rule changes and tribunals.
