The City of Launceston council has remitted the plaque permit fees for the Headstone Project.

The project recognises those who fought in wars whose graves remained unmarked.
Earlier this year, the first stage of the project was able to fit nine graves with headstones.
A $1305 fee was remitted by the council at its meeting on Monday.
The second stage has identified more than 170 unmarked graves. Stage two is likely to be completed over a number of years.
