A second free meningococcal ACWY public vaccine clinic will be held at the Derwent Entertainment Centre this weekend.
New Town, Moonah and Glenorchy remain the target areas of a public health response to recent cases of meningococcal W disease in Hobart’s northern suburbs.
Public clinic’s in the state’s North and North-West are planned for October, however no dates have yet been announced.
Health Minister Michael Ferguson said there was no need for people to wait, with eligible Tasmanians able to receive a free vaccination from their GP or authorised pharmacist immunisers.
“The public response to the expanded program has been excellent, and already more than 43,000 vaccines have been distributed around the state,” he said.
