The haul was enough to see the nine-strong team of riders finish third out of a total of 67 schools, and top the Tasmanian institutions with Launceston College the next best in 20th.
Hamish McKenzie and Tayla Sherriff both won two gold medals in the grade 7-8 category to be the pick of the St Patrick’s riders, while Conor Dobson took two bronze medals in the same age division.
Grade 9-10 rider Fenella Harris finished the weekend with a silver and a bronze to her name, with Naomi Harris rounding out the medals by finishing two places behind Sherriff in the XCO.
Riley Cowling missed out on the podium by one place in the 9-10 boys’ XCE finals and Harris finished fifth in the grade 7-8 girls’ equivalent.
The championships were held on the Gold Coast earlier this month.
