A COLLECTION OF NORTHERN ARTISTS: Works by Yvonne Correlje, Luke Harvey, Carol Barnett, Carlton Cox, Mary-Ann Orchard, Paul Becker, Sharon Davidson, Muriel Sluce, Alison Cooper-White, Joyce de Ruyter, Pieter Zaadstra are on display at Woolmers. The exhibition is open from 10am to 3pm daily, until August 31.
SAME OCEAN: View this recent work by Robyn Harman at Gallery Pejean this week, Wednesday – Friday 10:00am – 5:30pm, Saturday 10:00am – 2:00pm. The sea has always held a fascination for Robyn, and her imagery is sourced from water and coastal landforms that she has photographed at a number of locations around Tasmania and also from the shorelines of San Francisco.
DAMIAN COLPO: Damian Colpo will exhibit recent works at the Kimono Lounge, 99 Elphin Rd, Newstead, on Sunday, September 2, from 1-4pm. Lyrical and beautiful, Colpo's art has a quirky and unerring sense of design which is always executed in faultless colour combinations. All works are framed and are for sale from $45-$150 and the exhibition will also feature live music from the retro jazz pop band '5 Up The Drive'.
MATERIAL MEMORIES: Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery bringing together six interdisciplinary practitioners who are interested in creating work which sits at the interstices between art/craft/and design: Susan Buchanan contemporary artist/jeweler, Janine Combes contemporary artist/jeweler; Penelope Davis contemporary artist working with photography and sculptural installation; Eli Giannini contemporary artist/jeweler; Robyn Pelan contemporary artist working with ceramics and Sarah Stubbs artist/contemporary jeweller.
SLIPPERY SLOPE: A collection of paintings created over a finite 30 day period and continuing artist Alizon Gray’s focus on making works within pre-defined constrains. Running until August 25 at Sawtooth ARI, 160 Cimitiere Street, Launceston.
OFF THE WALLS:
CLASSICAL DELORAINE: Arts Deloraine concert featuring three different types of music: Bruce McNicol on piano, Joanne Mitchelson and Hamish Pike on the harp and violin, and Rustica Romania presenting a new world music performance. The show will be held in Gallery 9, 2 West Barrack Street, Deloraine, on August 26 at 2pm. Admittance $20, $15 concession or Arts Deloraine members, and $10 for youth up to 16 years.
