The annual post-season finals knockout competition was vetoed by NPL Tasmania clubs in the offseason.
But Southern Championship powerhouse Glenorchy Knights only last month had called for the statewide tournament to continue.
The top six clubs from the NPL home and away season and the highest-placed championships sides would play out a three-week series.
The decision to remove the League Cup was agreed last year at a post-season presidents’ meeting.
“There was some recent discussions to see if there was any enthusiasm to potentially resurrect it, with Glenorchy Knights eager for it to go ahead,” Football Federation Tasmania spokesman Andrew Cooling said.
“So FFT inquired with the other clubs to see if there was any change of heart, but once again the majority of the NPL clubs indicated they had no interest in playing in it.”
The League Cup, which has been held since 2013, had been introduced to coordinate matches at the end of the season ahead of the NPL national finals series.
But FFT instead said a friendly between Tasmanian and Victorian club champions would stand alone after the last of the 21 NPL rounds.
