Natural sciences curator David Maynard said National Science Week 2018 was a great opportunity for everyone in the community to get involved.
“The week allows us to celebrate science in all different aspects,” he said.
“Science is so important to how we live our lives, how our communities operate, [and] how our city runs.”
Mr Maynard said there would be more than 150 scientific activities and events taking place across the state.
“If ever science was going to be fun, it’s going to be this week,” he said.
City of Launceston mayor Albert van Zetten said QVMAG was a very important part of the city.
“Many will come along I’m sure next week to enjoy, and to learn, and to grow their own understanding of science,” he said.
