Mudbar won the award in the 2018 Restaurant and Catering Awards for Excellence in Melbourne.
Restaurant owner Don Cameron said the result was amazing, and acknowledged his team’s ongoing work and dedication to the restaurant following the death of his wife, Mel, in 2015.
“The team at Mudbar has developed into a mature service crew both front and back of house with a staff culture that is second to none,” he said.
Mr Cameron attributed the growth and dedication of staff the restaurant’s in-house work and training manual, Mel’s Way.
Mudbar was among three winning Tasmanian restaurants, with Me Wah Restaurant at Sandy Bay and Mures Upper Deck in Hobart also awarded.
