Tasmania’s Young Farmer of the Year will be decided on Saturday, with 12 finalists from around the state vying for the title at Quercus Park, Carrick.

The finalists made it through sheep work, fencing, tractor operation, public speaking, workshop knowledge, weed and seed identification, soil assessment and general knowledge modules in July.
They will compete in 10 modules on Saturday, starting from 8am, with the top six competitors in those going through to the public speaking and general knowledge events that night.
A prize pool of $40,000 was donated by TP Jones & Co, Polaris Australia, Nubco, Tasweld, Allgoods, Proskill Australia, GA Power Tools and 26Ten.
