The bracket-style tournament was the first of its kind to be held and despite some games being cancelled due to a leak at the St Patrick’s College courts, Basketball Tasmania events manager Scott Boucher was happy to label the weekend a success.
“The feedback was really good, it’s an exciting format because it’s different,” Boucher said.
“People were excited about the format and it gave them a different outlook on the tournament – moving forward we hope to have it every year and increase the frequency.”
The tournament’s second round will be held in Launceston on August 25 and 26.
