Tulluch’s Auctions will have those, and more, at its specialty Midwinter Treasures and Classics auction on July 28.
Auctioneer and director Jessie Reid said the auction would offer an extraordinary collection of vintage, classic, and restoration project cars, alongside a selection of antiques and fine art, and an antique bottle collection with “decidedly rare offerings”.
Ms Reid said an “amazing” John Glover oil painting, titled A View of Cader Idris, Snowdonia, Wales, would likely fetch the highest amount out of the auction.
“A similar piece sold recently for about $95,000,” she said.
Ms Reid said another interesting piece was a landscape painting by renowned artist Haughton Forrest.
“It won’t go for as much as the Glover, it’s quite small,” she said.
“The Forrest would go for about $8000.”
Another piece of art by Henri van Raalte was expected to go for about $800.
Ms Reid said collectors would be excited over a set of four rare Peddle chairs, made in Tasmania by famous woodworker George Peddle.
She said they were in an exceptionally clean condition.
“They’re a bit over 100 years old,” she said.
“They’re made out of blackwood, and they’re very comfortable.
“They’re relatively rare. There hasn’t been a set come up for a couple of years.”
She said the Peddle chairs were likely to go for about $900 each.
One of the most eye-catching items would be a one-owner rare green Datsun 240z Coupe, Ms Reid said.
“It’s in original condition,” she said.
“It’s really, really rare to find one like this.”
