The Break O’Day Council held three business information sessions in the region, and community services project officer Erica Lowry said community support for the event was positive.
Emergency services in the region had also had positive reactions toward helping out.
At the meeting on July 16, councillors voted to contribute up to $50,000 and supply ambulance and first aid, police, traffic management, fire safety, site security, fencing, toilets, lighting, water, and electricity.
Councillor Hannah Rubenach-Quinn requested the council investigate funding for youth programs or a youth worker to work with council at the event. Councillor John Tucker suggested Rural Youth be contacted for advice.
The event is expected to attract between 7000 to 15,000 visitors to the region.
