More than 20 people attended the house’s Christmas in July High Tea, and at least three of those were celebrating their birthday.
Franklin House Committee chairwoman Julie Dineen said the event was about raising money for the house.
“It basically goes back into day-to-day running of the house,” she said.
“We have a restoration fund, which is where most of it goes, because we have lots of things around the house that do need repairing.”
The house has held the event before.
“We had Christmas in July last year which proved very good,” Ms Dineen said.
“We quite often have high teas here for an number of reasons. Sometimes we have them with a speaker or sometimes just as event to try and bring in a bit of money and some members of the public.”
A number of tasty-looking treats were available at Saturday’s event.
“They had a few Christmas type things, there were fruit minced pies, little Christmas pudding truffles, jelly slice and some sandwiches and savouries,” Ms Dineen said.
“The people who are here are just members of the public who responded to our advertising. Some have been to Franklin House before and some hadn’t.”
