Councillor Leon Quilliam was due to resume his duties after an extended leave of absence from the Dorset Council.
However, Cr Quilliam advised fellow councillors and the general manager of his resignation on July 5.
Cr Quilliam said his resignation was for “personal and family reasons”.
The council received and noted Cr Quilliam’s resignation at its July 16 meeting.
