The City of Launceston council is currently undertaking routine maintenance at the Kings Bridge entrance to the Cataract Gorge.
General manager Michael Stretton said the works were expected to be completed by the end of next week.
“The scope of those works involve the replacement of a concrete beam above the existing shelter,” Mr Stretton said.
“[And] follow recent improvements by the council to install new signage, a drink fountain and new rubbish bins at the town entrance to the Gorge.”
Mr Stretton said disruptions would only be minor, but that the shelter located under the scaffolding would remain closed until the works were completed.
However, the walking trail at the Gorge will remain open and will not be affected by the improvements.
