In front of a huge crowd, the Tornadoes set up the result courtesy of a huge third quarter that saw them extend a two-point half-time margin into a 77-63 lead at the final break thanks to a 34-22 third quarter.
The Chargers threw everything at Launceston to open the final term, but the visitors steadied thanks to an offence that consistently found the open shooter and kept the scoreboard regularly ticking over.
The loss ends Hobart’s season after Geelong won at home against Canberra.
Lauren Nicholson continued her stellar season with a game-high 31 points and 14 rebounds for the Tornadoes, with Alex Wilson and Ellie Collins adding 19 points apiece.
Hobart were led by Brittany Smart’s 27 points, with Klara Wischer scoring 18 points and Kathleen Scheer 17 points.
