Club officials took to Facebook earlier this week to report that a sum of around $3000 had been stolen by “an individual associated with the club” across a period of six months.
A meeting was held on Wednesday night to elect a new committee, however, none were willing to step up to such a role considering the club’s financial situation.
“It is likely the club will now be wound up because, quite frankly, without any revenue stream or money in the bank there is no avenue forward,” the club’s online statement read.
“If not for this conduct, the club would have been in a position to rebuild.
“The previous debts were not insurmountable and a plan had been developed to deal with it, however, this cannot be implemented now.
“If money can be found to reconnect the power to the clubrooms, the club may be able continue.”
Past and present supporters, members and players have since pledged finances and assistance on social media to help the club get back off the ground.
