The Dockers sit marginally ahead of fellow battlers Tigers with one win, but won State League premierships in 2014 and 2016 and made the 2015 grand final.
“We haven’t even discussed it a a board level, we’ve still got five games to go and at this stage we’re pretty committed, but whatever we do will be held in the footy department review midway through September,” Dowling said.
“It’s been a tough year for the girls but we’ve had some pretty good years as well.
“We wish this year that we had been more competitive but in the ebbs and flows of football that wasn’t to be, we'll look at making improvements for next year.”
Dowling also joined Launceston president Sandra Boland in supporting the possibility of a North Launceston side joining the TSLW next season, saying another Northern club would reduce the impact of his side’s away games.
“It would make it easier for us - there’s only five in it now and we’re very isolated from the other teams, so that would make the travel easier for us.
“We go down to Hobart five times and they come up here once - that’s the difficulty of it but that’s what we’ve always done, and we’ve won two TSLW premierships so we’ve been pretty good at it.
“If North wanted to put a side in (that’s) good.”
