Launceston City Mission chief executive Stephen Brown said the Pay It Forward Dinner was in its third year of fundraising for Morton’s Place.
“This Pay It Forward dinner is really important because its the main fundraising effort for the year for the meals we provide to people for lunches and breakfasts,” he said.
The dinner worked by asking guests to pay what they thought was fair for the evening’s food and entertainment.
Mr Brown said this year’s event had a record attendance of 110 people.
“It’s an amazing response in the middle of winter, and it’s great for people to come into the place where the service is delivered,” he said.
All food cooked at the event was donated by businesses in the region. Renowned Tasmanian chefs Henry and Anna Terry cooked at the event alongside City Mission chefs and cooking school students from The Mish.
