The Breast Cancer Network of Australia aims to have 18,235 people on the field to represent each woman who will be diagnosed with the disease this year.
“It’s going to be a very emotional experience for me because I’ve had a few people pass away from breast cancer and seven years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” she said.
Four years ago, Ms Rigby took part in the first field of women.
“It’s very confronting when you first walk on and see they’ve been through the same journey as you. You see all the tears,” she said.
“It’ll probably be more emotional for me because I’ll be thinking about the ladies that I miss.”
Ms Rigby will be part of a group 23 of people from Launceston taking part.
The Field of Women will be held on August 12 at 11am. Melbourne Football Club will then play Sydney Football Club.
