Road closed:
Police have advised that the City of Launceston council will close Henry Street, due to flooding, from about 7pm Tuesday evening.
Taking to social media, a council spokesman said the city was experiencing higher than expected tides.
The council was expected to review the closure on Wednesday morning, but warned residents to expect further road closures in the coming days.
Tree down:
As of 5.45pm, a tree was blocking northbound traffic on Mt Hicks Road at Wynyard.
The tree is located about 4 kilometres south of the roundabout, police say.
Motorist are advised to take care in this area.
Council are attending to deal with the matter.
Floodwater:
As of 5pm, Tasmania Police advised that floodwater was affecting West Tamar Road at Trevallyn.
The road is not closed, however the speed has been restricted to 40km/h.
The flooding is near Tamar Marine, police say.
Motorists are advised to proceed in this area with caution.
The conditions come as the Bureau of Meteorology issues a severe weather warning for the second consecutive day.
