At the council’s meeting on July 16, general manager John Brown listed five priorities the council saw as priorities to lobby for.
The priorities were the St Helens foreshores and Georges Bay walkways, St Marys flood mitigation, the Georges Bay barway infrastructure project, Lower Georges Riverworks investigations and planning, and renovations of the Old Tasmanian Hotel.
Councillor Barry LeFevre said the first priority should be flood mitigation at St Marys.
Mayor Mick Tucker said he believed flood mitigation should be funded by the state government, but that federal government funding was a backup.
