The 46-year-old from the Outlaws Motorcycle Club’s Launceston chapter has been charged with two counts of common assault, unlawfully possessing and using a dangerous article in a public place and committing a nuisance.
Police were called to Launceston Showgirls in the early hours of Sunday June 17 where a man and a security guard had allegedly been assaulted.
“The capsicum spray affected a number of patrons and workers at the premises, people suffered secondary exposures, with one woman needing attention by attending ambulance personnel due to breathing difficulties,” police said in a statement on Monday.
“Police believe the man was in the company with other outlaw motorcycle gang members immediately before the incident.”
The accused will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on August 29.
