About 60 members of the club, and a number of other veteran golfers from Mowbray, Riverside and Longford, converged on the Launceston Golf Course for the group’s annual charity day.
The club’s acting president Don Gee said it was the first time the day had raised $1100.
“We have donated a thousand a year for several years and this year we raised $1100 for the first time,” Mr Gee said.
“But we always donate it to The Examiner appeal because it supports a number of charities and spreads its benefits to those most in need.”
The day was run by a number of the group’s members, with Brian Carswell, Alan Castley and Neil Heathcote taking the reins. The club increased its fees from $8 to $10 for the day, with all funds being donated to the appeal.
“It was a good day,” Mr Gee said.
