A severe weather warning has been issued for Tasmania by the Bureau of Meteorology.
Strong north to north-westerly winds will average 60-70 kilometres per hour with peak gusts of around 100km/h are possible on Tuesday afternoon before easing into Wednesday.
BOM forecasts blustery conditions will continue for most of the week, with particularly strong and gusty winds expected again on Wednesday afternoon.
If winds continue, it is likely another severe weather warning will be issued.
The cold fronts will also bring significant rainfall on Tuesday through to Thursday.
Three-day totals in excess of 100mm is expected on the West Coast, with 40-60mm expected in the North and up to 80mm expected in elevated areas of the North-West and North-East.
Catchments are wet and river rises are expected at many locations due to the forecast rainfall, which may result in minor flooding at some locations.
Isolated thunderstorms with the chance of small hail are possible in the West and North on Tuesday night.
Snow will develop above 700 metres from Tuesday night.
