The hard nut from Lauderdale, who played midfield and forward roles against the Hawks, collected 17 possessions (nine contested), four clearances, five tackles, 2.1 and six score involvements.
He wasn’t the only hard-at-it type to enjoy their weekend with Burnie’s Maverick Weller doing his bit St Kilda’s win over Carlton. Playing his defensive forward-role, Weller finished with 15 possessions (11 uncontested), one clearance, seven tackles, 1.1 and four score involvements.
Teammate Jimmy Webster, of Glenorchy, collected 18 touches (13 uncontested and three intercepts), one clearance, two tackles, one goal assist and nine score involvements before re-inuring his groin late in the game.
North Hobart’s Liam Jones was outplayed by Rowan Marshall and finished with nine touches, two marks, two clearances, six tackles, 0.1 and two score assists.
Burnie’s Brody Miocheck was strong in attack for Collingwood in the loss to West Coast, with 2.3 and nine score involvements from 15 touches, eight marks and two tackles with Jeremy McGovern, who was one of the Eagles’ best, his opponent.
Dodges Ferry’s Jeremy Howe was outstanding in defence for the Magpies with 24 touches (17 uncontested and nine intercepts), 11 marks (three intercepts) and six score involvements.
Burnie’s Robbie Fox, who played in attack and on the wing, kicked 1.0, with his goal bringing things level in the final quarter, had two goal assists an six score involvements, 13 touches, three marks and five tackles in Sydney’s thriller over North Melbourne.
Devonport’s Ben Brown kicked 4.2 and had goal assist and 10 score involvements from 17 touches and eight marks, a haul which has seen him extend his lead in the Coleman Medal race after Lance Franklin kicked 3.1.
Brown has 50.19 for the year to Franklin’s 42.25.
Launceston’s Thomas Bellchambers had an intriguing battle with Jarrod Witts in Essendon’s win over Gold Coast on Saturday night, with both ruckmen recording 29 hit-outs.
Bellchambers also collected 10 touches, took five marks, laid four tackles, kicked 0.2 and had seven score involvements.
In the opposition camp, Burnie’s Lachie Weller had 21 touches (15 uncontested), four marks and two tackles, again flourishing in a defensive role.
In Sydney, George Town’s Toby Nankervis won 25 hit-outs and collected nine touches, two marks, three tackles, 1.0, one goal assist and six score involvements, in Richmond’s loss to Greater Western Sydney.
Clarence’s Jack Riewoldt kicked 2.2, two goal assists and eight score involvements from 15 touches, eight marks and two tackles.
Ulverstone’s Alex Pearce had nine touches and two marks in Fremante’s win over Port Adelaide.
Hugh Greenwood, of Lauderdale, collected 12 touches (five contested), four marks, one clearance, six tackles, 0.2, one goal assist and five score involvements in Adelaide’s win over Geelong.
Launceston’s Jake Kolodjashnij had 17 touches, one tackle and one score involvement down back for the Cats.
