About 500 people were expected to attend this year’s Northern Wedding Expo, organiser Natasha Philpott said.
“They were waiting up the staircase for us to open the doors this morning, which was a good sign,” she said.
“We’ve got a lot more males coming through the door this year. Whether it’s to do with their brides dragging them along, or if they’re just a bit more interested and want to be part of the planning it’s good.”
All funds raised, which is expected to be more than $8500, will be donated to the Cancer Council Tasmania.
“We started doing it as a fundraiser the year after I got diagnosed with stage three breast cancer at the age of 28,” Mrs Philpott said.
More than 40 stalls were at the expo, with organisers saying a number of new exhibitors had come on board, as well as some favourites.
A fashion parade was held and raffles and prizes were given away.
