The Magpies took revenge for the Parrots’ three-point round four win with a 6.12 (48) to 6.6 (42) victory, which was sealed by a 50m set shot on the boundary from Joe Robinson in the dying minutes of the game.
Bridgenorth had the ball in its forward 50 with half a minute left on the clock but was unable to fashion a scoring opportunity, allowing the Magpies to keep within striking distance of a top-five spot.
On a day where boggy conditions killed off any chance of a free-flowing contest, Bradley Whish-Wilson and Geoff Mohr provided class off half-back for the Magpies while Daniel Roozendaal’s hitouts came to the fore in a gruelling last term.
Leigh Nichols kicked two goals including one in the final quarter, but was largely well-held by Isaac Lethborg, while James Griffiths kicked two third-term majors to be Bridgenorth’s sole multiple goalkicker.
Jacob Bonney and Brady Demeijer both won plenty of contested ball through the middle for the Parrots, who remain in third spot.

BRACKNELL led South Launceston for most of the day before a final term blitz ensured the Bulldogs kept their perfect record intact.
The Redlegs were determined to prove a point following South’s 135-point win earlier in the year and bolted out of the blocks with four goals to one in the first term.
Casey Lockett starred in his first game back for the Redlegs and was able to get the ball in the hands of Corry Goodluck (four goals) and Jake Cox (three), who were the game’s dominant forwards.
Bracknell took a seven-point lead into the final break but were overrun as South piled on six goals to win 13. 13 (91) to 11.13 (79).
Sonny Whiting kicked three in his first game for the Bulldogs since 2006 and was matched by Bradley Etchell, while Cody Linger provided a huge presence around the ground.
HILLWOOD was unable to kick the big score its coach asked for during the week but still managed to hold off Rocherlea and maintain its spot in fifth.
Just three goals were kicked in the first half - all by Hillwood - as the Suburban Tigers made it to double figures before kicking their first major.
Hillwood’s star midfield trio of Nathan Pearce, Dan Withers and Patrick Rodman were dominant at stoppages, while Andrew Whitmore kicked multiple goals for the eighth time this season.
LONGFORD ended its run of close matches in dramatic fashion, obliterating Deloraine by 113 points.
On a day when more than $7000 was raised for Make Runs Maxi, the Country Tigers ended the contest in the first quarter by kicking nine goals to none, and held the Kangaroos to just three points in the second half.
Kobe Moore and Jonathon Smart both kicked season-high bags of five goals and were supported by Jake Williams and Jackson Blair.
Oliver Smith kicked both Deloraine’s goals in a 19.19 (133) to 2.8 (20) defeat.
