The event, named Indies, was held in Sydney on June 28 and celebrates craft beers from across Australia.
Van Diemen won gold with their Max Estate Ale in the speciality saison category.
“I think if you look at what we’re producing in the state we have the access to primary ingredients it’s sensational,” said director of Van Diemen Brewing Will Tatchell.
The brewery also won six more medals for it’s other beers, such as their Motor Mouth Indian Pale Ale took silver in the American IPA category.
The beer is entirely farm-sourced, meaning all the ingredients used in the beer were gathered on the Van Diemen Brewery site.
“Everything’s going local so the more local we can make something we have the capability to grow all the ingredients,” Mr Tatchell said.
Other Tasmanian breweries to take home awards included Little Rivers Brewing Company, Moo Brew, Shambles Brewery and Hobart Brewing Co.
