The fist Tassie Scallop fiesta will celebrate the arrival of the new season of scallops at Bridport and will take place on August 5.
A series of eclectic events have been planned in the village and on the water to pay homage to Bridport’s maritime and seafood heritage in association with the premium beverages of the hinterland.
Organiser Tony Scott said he was excited to show case the regions produce and Bridport in winter.
"Scallops are only the star of the show. There's a supporting cast of other fantastic seafood and topped off with Australia's best wines from the Pipers Brook region just 10 minutes up the road from Bridport,” he said.
"The Fiesta is about celebrating our fishing and seafaring heritage with an up-to-date twist."
Along with a line up of entertainers the stage will be shared by celebrity chefs, Amy Luttrell, Henry and Anna Terry and Massimo Mele as well as scallop splitters demonstrating their craft in an intrastate challenge race.
Massimo, whose latest challenge has been launching the Grain restaurant at the new Peppers Silo Hotel in Launceston, is looking forward to using scallops and other fresh seafood as heroes of the dishes he cooks up on the day.
"With any food the freshest you can get it is best and then keep it simple," he said.
Since reaching the finals of Channel 9's Master Chef three years ago Amy Luttrell has published a cookbook, co-incidentally with a recipe using scallops and sparkling wine. She will have a supply of My Tasmanian Menu books to sign at the Fiesta.
Back home on the Deloraine truffle farm after their appearance on the most recent series of Channel 7's My Kitchen Rules Henry and Anna Terry were quick to sign up for the Fiesta and the opportunity to work with some Tasmania's renowned fresh produce.
"We'll have to put a bit of thought into just what we do, but I’m sure we can come up with at least one dish using truffle!" Anna said.
"The flavour can be subtle, but enhances whatever you match it with."
