The Launceston College Sporting Academies are after school clinics for students at intermediate levels of AFL, cricket, rowing or mountain biking.
Assistant principal Angela Hudson said the program would identify talented students in primary and high schools around the Launceston region.
“We’re bringing them into the college to run a few skill sessions with them to develop those skills,” she said.
Participating students will be led by qualified and experienced coaches and staff from Launceston College.
Coaches include Adam Sanders for AFL, Marcus Burston for cricket, Jim Guy for rowing, and Rowena Fry and Ben Mather for mountain bike riding.
Teacher Mark Padgett said it was the perfect place for skilled students to come to train and study in their chosen sport.
The inaugural sessions will start from August.
