The school will receive a $57,946 increase in 2018, according to data released by the state government on Thursday.
Data released by Education Minister Jeremy Rockliff details funding for all schools across the state, as well as disability support schools.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Brooks High School received $758,148 in funding in 2017 and will receive $816,094 in 2018.
Port Dalrymple at George Town will also receive a significant boost in funds, with a $50,416 boost from 2017 to 2018.
At the other end of the scale, Deloraine Primary School looks set to lose $34,931 in funds.
It will go from receiving $516,770 in 2017 to $481,839 in 2018.
Other Northern schools who will lose funding are Evandale Primary School, Exeter High School, Lilydale District School, Ravenswood Heights Primary School and Winnaleah District High School.
The data release includes details of the state government’s “fairer funding model”, which incorporates Better Schools Tasmania funding (Gonski). The model has been used since 2014.
“All schools are provided with a core allocation of funding based on the things all schools have in common,” the report read.
Fairer funding incorporates aspects such as: how many students are enrolled at the school, whether its primary, secondary, combined, or senior secondary, as well as the fact that some schools have students with greater needs.
“The data helps identify student need and measures success at an individual student, program, school and whole-of-system improvement level,” Mr Rockliff said.
“This is critical to improving education outcomes for Tasmania, ensuring funding is distributed according to student need and programs and policies are developed and implemented appropriately.”
The data release also provides information on student enrolments and attendance, student suspension and class sizes, disability support and workforce data.
