So far eight flights across Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Qantas have been delayed, and two Jetstar flights were cancelled.
A Jetstar spokesman said flight JQ 730 from Launceston to Melbourne was cancelled and the return flight, JQ 731 from Melbourne to Launceston, was also cancelled because of thick fog in Launceston and Melbourne.
“All customers were given the following options: to be moved onto the next available flight, be moved to a flight out of Hobart or get a refund voucher for the full amount, given the weather cancellation,” he said.

A Qantas spokesman said flights QF 2281 and 2282, which operate from Melbourne to Launceston and then from Launceston to Melbourne, were delayed about three hours due to knock on impacts of the fog in Melbourne.
“Conditions are clearing up and we are working to get customers on their way as soon as possible,” the spokesman said.
Virgin Australia flights were also affected by the fog, a spokesman said.
“We are working to have all passengers on their way as quickly as possible and encourage our guests travelling to or from Launceston today to check the Virgin Australia flight status page for the most up-to-date information,” he said.
