Relationships Australia Tasmania has partnered with Queechy High School to pilot an Adventure Therapy School program for students at risk of disengaging from the education system.
Queechy principal Rob Fleming said it was important to find innovative ways to engage students.
“We will do this by fostering relationships with fellow students and school staff,” he said.

Under the program, students will rotate through seven days of off-campus activities designed to help them develop new skills.
Relationships Australia Tasmania chief executive Mat Rowell said the activities were designed to increase a student’s capacity to cope with challenging situations, while promoting teamwork and cooperation.
The program was made possible by a $10,000 Commonwealth Bank of Australia Centenary Grant.
