To mark 60 years of The Examiner’s Winter Relief Appeal, a cocktail party hosted by The Examiner and the Launceston Chamber of Commerce at Penny Royal aims to raise funds and awareness for those in need.
The Examiner editor Courtney Greisbach said the goal for the appeal is $60,000, with more than $25,000 already raised.
“Feedback from the four local charities the appeal supports is that the appeal is just as an important and relevant today than any other year,” she said.
“The cocktail party will acknowledge the community’s commitment to give a helping hand to those who are doing it tough, recognise the work of the charities in our region as well as raising some much needed funds to ensure that support can continue.
“We’re proud to help facilitate the fundraising in our community and hope that people will join us for a night of fellowship and fundraising, knowing that every dollar from ticket sales and the raffle will go directly to the appeal.”
Tickets are available from Launceston Tickets or through the Launceston Chamber of Commerce on 6331 9364.
- The cocktail party will take place at Penny Royal from 6.30pm on August 10.
