Last week, Brixhibition organisers – Tasmanian Brick Enthusiasts – donated $1000 to Metal Minds Robotics Club.
The funds will be used for the club to host the state championships in November, the group’s publicity officer John Heathcote said.
“Up to 24 teams will compete for places to attend the national championships in Sydney in December,” he said.
“From there they could end up at world championships in Houston.”
The donation will be used for the event’s costs and contribute to travel expenses to nationals.
Brick enthusiasts president and coordinator Ken Draeger said the key reason the Tasmanian Brick Enthusiasts Club existed was to inspire the next generation.
Metal Minds is seeking volunteers to help with the state event. Contact Kathryn on 0415866058.
