Pope Francis has arrived in Geneva for celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the World Council of Churches, a global inter-church organisation that brings together various branches of Christianity.

The WCC said Francis' one-day visit was "a centrepiece of the ecumenical commemoration" of its 70th anniversary.
The Council encompasses 348 Protestant, Lutheran, Anglican and Orthodox churches from over 110 countries.
Despite not being a member, the Catholic Church still participates in many of its initiatives.
It was not the first time a pope visited the WCC; Pope Paul VI visited in 1969 and Pope John Paul II did so in 1984.
Francis is expected to attend prayers and make a speech at the WCC, as well as visit a group of students. He will also give mass in front of some 41,000 Catholics.
