Fourth-placed City Marians take on South Burnie, who sit second, a win behind ladder leaders South Launceston. Both are coming off wins and it was South Burnie who came home victorious last time these two met in round one.

Burnie Baptist faces Tamar Churinga as they to peg their way back to a top-two spot.

The two teams had contrasting results last weekend, with Baptist running away 4-0 winners and Tamar going down 6-1. Forward Jarrad Poke has been in impressive form for the coastal side, with Robert Partridge consistently strengthening Churinga’s defence.

Middle ground of the competition, Smithton hosts ninth-placed Launceston City. Smithton boasts four wins, and hopes to add to this against a winless City. This won’t be an easy feat as City’s young group led by experienced Colin Pearson and Jeremy Stebbings has been building throughout.

West Devonport and Devonport face off in another coastal cross-town showdown in a significant clash for both teams. Sitting in tenth and seventh respectively, both sides have been steadily improving from last year. Young guns West’s Zeke Hausmann and Devonport’s Lachlan Murfet have strengthened their sides.

Always bound to be competitive, Queechy Penguins clash with South Launceston Suns in a possibly season-defining meeting. Queechy currently sits in fifth, a win behind fourth-placed City Marians and a loss could almost take them out of finals. However, both sides come off winning performances and an in-form Queechy unit is dangerous.

The Queechy and South Launceston showdown leads the way in the women’s competition. Sitting in third and fourth respectively, a Queechy win furthers the gap between the two sides but a South win almost certainly secures them a finals berth.

Josie Kremerskothen has been elite for Queechy with goalkeeper Lynsey Sheppard-Blazely prolific for South.

The side currently in fifth and looking to push towards that elusive finals spot, Launceston City, hits the road to face Smithton. Both sides were on the negative end of the spectrum last week, with City going down to Queechy and Smithton outmuscled by City Marians, so bouncing back will be paramount for both outfits.

Second-placed City Marians face South Burnie off the back of a confidence-boosting win. South Burnie came away victorious last week also, with a win over Devonport, as Mel Scolyer consistently finds form. Romani Kenworthy starred for City last weekend and a similar performance would help their cause.  

Lastly, ladder leaders and defending champions West Devonport takes on Devonport as they roll on towards finals. Despite their two losses, West has been the benchmark this year, scoring the most goals and conceding the least. Devonport has picked up one win so far and has been building together strongly as a team.
