Conducted every year at the same venue, the event is the pinnacle achievement in Australia for drivers in the over-40 ranks and this year more than 150 drivers across nine classes made the trek from all over Australia to compete.
Males said it was a perfect meet.
“It was a great weekend and the weather was far better than last year when the meeting got called off during racing due to extreme rains and flooding,” he said.
“We had great pace from the word go this year and managed to win qualifying and go on to win every race, including the coveted shootout event where each class pole-sitter has one lap to better, or get as close to their pole time as they can.”

The Launceston Kart Club member praised a support crew that included his father Peter and his race mechanic Chris Schofield.
It was a very successful trip for the team as owner Andrew Walter was able to join his teammate on the podium after a storming drive to third in the final race.
