The council owns the building, located at 6-8 Bridge Road, which is zoned for community purpose.
Community purpose zoning requires that the land is used for community facilities and services.
Ross resident Kim Peart suggested the building could be used as a virtual museum dedicated to the art on the Ross Bridge.
“[The bridge] could serve as a home for understanding and knowing the carvings of the Ross Bridge,” he said.
“The Tasmanian government has 3D images of each of the 186 carvings, which could be used.”
Inspections of the property can be arranged by contacting the council on 6397 7303.
Expressions of interest need to be addressed to general manager Des Jennings, PO Box 156 Longford TAS 7301 or emailed to council@nmc.tas.gov.au.
Expressions close on June 29 at 4pm.
