Popular program Rosehaven will start filming on June 18 in southern Tasmania.
It will take seven weeks to film the season.
The show’s starts and creators Luke McGregor and Celia Pacquola were recently nominated for Logies for most popular actor and actress.
Rosehaven tells the story of best friends and workmates Daniel (McGregor) and Emma (Pacquola) living in Tasmania.
The ABC production features locations such as Oatlands, Geeveston, New Norfolk, Richmond, Seven Mile Beach, Mountain River, Brighton and Chigwell.
Head of ABC Comedy Rick Kalowski said returning to the state was a joy.
“I’ve had few more thrilling days than when Celia and Luke first pitched it – knowing immediately ABC had to make it, and that it had the potential to charm audiences worldwide,” he said. “And so it’s proved to be.”
Rosehaven was given $500,000 from Screen Tasmania to help produce the eight episodes.
Premier Will Hodgman said the production was unprecedented for the level of Tasmanian involvement with about two-thirds of the case involving local actors.
”Four Tasmanian crew members will work in full-time roles during production after being trained on-the-job as part of Screen Tasmania’s Emergence program, with three more participants involved in this season’s production,” he said.
Screen Tasmania invested a total of $950,000 for the other two seasons.
