A man and woman from New South Wales are in custody in Devonport after an incident on the Bass Highway between Heybridge and Don.

The couple evaded police in an allegedly stolen black Ford Falcon XR8 ute on the Bass Highway at Heybridge about 11am.
Police used road spikes to disable the ute and followed the vehicle to Forth Road, Don where the couple were arrested.
The 30-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were wanted by New South Wales and Tasmania police for a number of offences.
Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the Ford Falcon ute driving on the Bass Highway between Ulverstone and Devonport, and on Cutts Road and Forth Road, in the Don area. They are particularly interested in dash cam footage of the ute.
