The state government announced on Tuesday evening that the 298-kilometre electricity cable to the mainland had returned to service after a two-month outage.
Energy Minister Guy Barnett said Hydro Tasmania storages remained above the level required for energy security throughout the outage.
Basslink was damaged in March by a contractor during routine maintenance.
