The 54-year-old was one of 38 competitors in Saturday’s Lilydale Lope, which she first raced in as a 15-year-old in 1991.
She didn’t go home empty handed, winning the random draw prize when she finished in 23rd position.
Other than a different starting point, Ms Geier said not much had changed in the annual event.
“We used to start at the swimming pool, but now we go from the Lilydale Larder,” she said.
“The circuit itself has stayed the same, which is good.
“I haven’t managed to do it every year, but I always enjoy it because of the scenery.
“A lot of people who don’t do the shorter events will come to this.”
Organised through the North Launceston Athletics Club, in conjunction with the Launceston Running Club, the Lilydale Lope is a 16.6 kilometre handicapped fun run through the hills that make up the region’s countryside. The event was first held in 1974.
