The York Street gym was one of almost 300 Anytime Fitness sites throughout Australia to take part in the 24-hour Treadmill Challenge for Suicide Prevention.
Now in its second year, the charity event allows people to run, walk or jog for any amount of time within the space of a day and get sponsored for their contribution.
Almost $400,000 was raised from the challenge last year, with funds going to support Suicide Prevention Australia.
Anytime Fitness Launceston manager Alison Baker said the community had again dug deep this year.
“There has been a great response,” she said.
“We’ve had everyone from first-time visitors to families, and even a contribution from the mayor, which has been lovely.
“Physical health and mental health go hand in hand, so this is about letting people know there are organisations they can reach out to if they need help.”
