After several years establishing itself at Kate Reed Reserve in Prospect, the event will be held at Glenorchy Mountain Bike Park on Friday.
An impressive field of 400 riders has entered from 29 Tasmanian schools and colleges including Kings Meadows (18), Launceston Christian School (16), Launceston College (eight), Launceston Church Grammar (31), Newstead College (four), Queechy (13), Riverside (26), Scotch Oakburn (16) and St Pat’s (37).
Among the favourites will be Tom Stylianou, Riley Cowling (St Pat’s) and Riverside’s Izzy Flint in the under-17 races while Scotch Oakburn’s Henley James Smith and Launceston College’s Sam Fox and Innes Ferrier will be up against a strong Southern contingent including Mitch Gittus (Guilford Young) in the under-19s.
The event, which also features under-15 races, was postponed by a fortnight due to bad weather in Hobart.
