A planning application to install new tennis courts adjacent to the Campbell Town oval was made available for community consultation by the Northern Midlands Council last Wednesday.
New public toilets will also be installed as a part of the application.
One of the tennis courts will be synthetic, while the second will be made of an asphalt and acrylic surface, which will also accommodate netball games.
The new tennis courts will see the Campbell Town Tennis Club relocate to the precinct.
Community comment on the proposal is open until May 29.
The proposed works are a part of the council’s $2.8 million Campbell Town oval precinct project announced in February.
Funding for the project comes from the federal government, the council and AFL Tasmania, Sport and Recreation Tasmania, the Tasmanian Community Fund and the Campbell Town Tennis Club.
