Mr Burling’s sister and guarantor, Harley Burling, said her brother was excited to move into his new Hargrave Crescent house.
“But, someone ruined that,” Ms Burling said.
“We got the call at 3am [on Sunday] to say the house was on fire. Jayde woke up later in the morning saying, ‘Did I dream that?’”
Tasmania Police was called to the Hargrave Crescent property about 9.30pm on Saturday night.

The fire was quickly extinguished, but caused extensive damage to the house’s interior.
“We were so happy to move in until that happened. Now we’re going to have to find somewhere else,” Ms Burling said.
Ms Burling said her brother and his children would live with her at Newnham until they found a new house.
“It’s so stupid that someone would do that to someone else’s property,” she said.
