Resuming at 4-123 the Lions took the initiative from the start of the day's play adding another 88 runs in 63 minutes to take the score to 4-211 and a lead of 367 when the Knights called it a day.
Jade Selby (100 no) continued his amazing match to smash all the NTCA and Launceston grand final batting records.
Becoming the first player in the history of NTCA cricket to score a double-century and then another century in the second innings it was an easy choice for the Ricky Ponting Medal for the player-of- the-match.
Selby hit 15 boundaries in his 182-minute stay at the crease and had good support from Damien Jillett (40) with five boundaries.
The Knights pace attack of Paul Bunton and Jack Young gave it their all in a last ditch attempt to get back in the match but the battle weary bowlers found the flat wicket of no assistance.
The Knights captain Paul Bunton was gracious in defeat and was ruing their poor batting in the first innings.

Adam Winston (3-45) from 13 overs was the best of the bowlers taking eight for the match.
Overall the Eagles had done all they needed to after claiming the important first innings lead and at stumps they were 6-172 and the premiership was theirs.
