More than 20 competitors took to the water for the event, which had to be postponed last month due to bad weather. Organisers had better luck with the conditions this time around, with a favourable tide assisting the 14-race schedule.
Tasmanian Australian Power Boat Association president Chris Palmer said he was satisfied with the turnout for the season-ending competition.
“We’re pretty happy with the way it has come together,” he said.
“There are other sports such as footy on at this time of the year, so its good to see some spectators along the river.”
It marked a return to the water for Launceston competitor Brian Bell, who blew his engine at a race in Hobart six months ago. He said he always enjoyed racing at Rosevears because there was “plenty of room and plenty of water.”
